2024 Budget – 6 March 2024

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, has announced a Budget on 6 March 2024.

There will obviously be at least one eye on the forthcoming general election, and there may be tax changes afoot to try to win votes. As usual, there will be lots of speculation in the media over the coming weeks and, indeed, this has already started.

There have been suggestions in the press that the forthcoming Budget may include major tax cuts to woo voters. A cut in the basic rate of income tax – currently 20% – would be a welcome announcement, as would a reduction in the corporate tax rates to benefit businesses. Although there have been much rumoured changes to Inheritance Tax , these are being played down by Government sources.

We will just have to wait for few weeks to see what surprises the Chancellor has in store for the Country!

Following the budget, we will provide a full summary of the key announcements in the Budget on 6 March – let’s see what it brings!
