31 March year end? How soon after that date will your accounting figures be available?

Running a successful business involves keeping a close eye on the financials.

Unfortunately, far too many businesses regard this as an unnecessary evil. Being VAT registered and having to have the figures available for VAT Returns can help this process, but it is not the be all and end all.  Believe it or not, there are still many businesses that do not have accounts prepared until the following December/January when the tax return deadlines are close!

Making tax digital will mean quarterly filings are required to HMRC which again should also mean records need to be up to date.

Having the accounts ready as soon as practicable after the year end means tax liabilities can be accurately predicted – no last-minute shocks!

What is your target date for the production of your yearly accounts? Are you aware of the impact of Making Tax Digital?
